About Stables at Tamaya
Located on-site is the Horse Rehabilitation program operated by the Stables at Tamaya. Activities ranging from trail rides, stretch and ride, volunteer opportunities to family friendly rodeos can provide with an authentic Southwest experience. You will feel the satisfaction of knowing you have contributed to creating a better life to neglected & abused horses. Stretch and Ride provides a connection with your horse and is a unique opportunity to recover the connection between your mind, body and nature. Experience how simple breath and movement can bring relaxation and renewed focus with the horse. These sessions help you become aware of how integral your body and your mind are to your practice of yoga and horsemanship. Horses are highly responsive to the emotional state of their rider. Stables Director and Owner Connie Collis has more than 45 years of experience teaching the fundamentals of horseback riding. With more than 60 horses at the stables, guests and horses are custom matched to fit the needs of each rider -- from beginner to advanced.
